Sometimes, when one steps really hard on an image, something unexpected suddenly looks back, and one has to just pause and take it in. What is it? Who is it? An expression, a mood. Someone one knew, someone one dreamed. Or some precipitous glimpse of self, hovering, all the while uncertainly there.
